Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) uses the unique connection between horses and humans to help participants gain insight into themselves and others. Through connection with the horse, participants practice new ways of relating to others. This allows them to become more aware of the impact they have on those around them. EAL can support people who need assistance with connecting with others, communicating, and coping with life stressors.

In 2024, MFSS established a new partnership with a local horse owner, providing access to a central Cooma site with calm and responsive horses already on location. This partnership has allowed us to deliver multiple well received EAL programs for families across the region.

Through attending EAL, participants are often able to develop:
- Confidence
- Self-awareness
- Emotional regulation skills
- Reduced feelings of fear and anxiety
